Ninth in the Penderyn Icons of Wales series, this one is named ‘The Headliner’ after David Llyod George (1863-1945), the only Welsh Prime Minister and creator of the Immature Spirits Act 1915, which specified whisky must be matured for a minimum of three years. This likely annoyed a lot of distilleries at the time, but is said to have helped shape the image of whisky as a premium product.
This particular whisky was matured in Jamaican rum and Port casks, non-chill filtered, for plenty of rich berry and spice notes.
